Helping families take their next step
Choosing a nursery or pre-school is a big decision.

At Charnwood Nursery & Pre-school Group, we want the admissions process to feel straightforward, welcoming and supportive from the first enquiry through to your child’s first day.

Our settings provide nurturing early education and childcare for children at different stages of their early years journey, alongside out-of-school and holiday provision at selected locations.

Making an enquiry

Families can contact CNPG to:

  • Ask about available places.
  • Discuss their child’s individual needs.
  • Find out about our settings and provision.
  • Arrange a visit.
  • Discuss attendance patterns.
  • Ask about fees and funding.
  • Talk about settling-in arrangements.

We encourage families to visit their chosen setting wherever possible so they can meet the team, explore the environment and ask questions.

Availability

Places are subject to availability at the relevant setting and age group.

Availability can vary throughout the year, so we recommend contacting our team as early as possible.

Choosing the right setting

CNPG operates a number of nursery, pre-school and out-of-school provisions across the local area.

Each setting has its own environment, age groups and provision.

Our team will help families understand which setting and attendance arrangement may be most appropriate for their needs.

Inclusion and additional needs

We welcome children from all backgrounds and are committed to providing an inclusive environment where every child belongs and every child matters.

We work with parents, carers and relevant professionals to understand children’s individual needs and make reasonable adjustments and appropriate support arrangements wherever possible.

Our SEND and Inclusion team provides additional support to children, families and practitioners across our settings.

Settling in

Starting nursery is a significant change for children and families.

We work with parents and carers to make the transition as positive and reassuring as possible.

Where appropriate, we may offer opportunities for families to visit the setting before their child starts and share information about their child’s routines, interests, preferences and needs.

Admissions decisions

Admissions are based on available places and the needs of the setting.

We aim to communicate clearly with families throughout the admissions process.

A place is not confirmed until the relevant admissions arrangements have been completed and agreed with CNPG.

Information we may need

As part of the admissions process, we may need information such as:

  • Emergency contacts.
  • Medical and dietary information.
  • Additional needs or SEND information.

We handle this information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
