Frequently Asked Questions
Everything families ask us most often — about our approach, our days, and how we support your child.
What is CNPG's main philosophy / ethos?
At CNPG, we believe every child deserves to feel a sense of belonging, experience joy in their childhood and be supported to grow into a confident, capable and curious learner. We recognise that children learn best through meaningful relationships, play, exploration and real-life experiences. Our role is to nurture each child’s individuality whilst providing the opportunities, support and encouragement they need to thrive.
How do you explain your curriculum?
Our curriculum is designed to give children the knowledge, skills and experiences they need to flourish both now and in the future. Through a balance of child-led exploration, purposeful teaching and rich learning experiences, we help children develop confidence, communication skills, independence, resilience and a love of learning. Every day is carefully planned to ensure children make progress whilst still enjoying the magic of childhood.
What makes your learning approach different?
We combine high-quality early education with outdoor learning, Forest School experiences, strong relationships and a genuine understanding of child development. Our approach is child-centred and ambitious, helping children build confidence, independence, social skills and school readiness through meaningful experiences rather than formal lessons. We believe children learn best when they are actively engaged, curious and having fun.
Do you offer Forest School or outdoor learning?
Outdoor learning is a fundamental part of life at CNPG. Children enjoy regular access to outdoor environments where they can explore, take appropriate risks, solve problems, build resilience and develop a connection with nature. Our Forest School programme provides opportunities for children to learn through real-world experiences including den building, tool use, fire safety, nature exploration and environmental stewardship. Forest School experiences are available across the group, with dedicated sessions delivered by qualified Forest School practitioners.
Do you provide meals / snacks?
We provide nutritious meals and snacks throughout the day, helping children develop healthy eating habits and positive relationships with food. We cater for allergies, intolerances, cultural requirements and dietary preferences, including vegetarian and vegan requirements where needed. Individual needs are discussed with families to ensure every child can safely enjoy mealtimes.
Do you offer funded childcare places?
We offer funded childcare places in line with current government funding schemes, including eligible funding for children from 9 months, 2 years and 3–4 years.
Do you offer flexible hours?
We understand that every family is different. We offer a range of attendance patterns, subject to availability, to support working families and individual childcare needs. Our team works closely with parents to find the most suitable arrangement for their child and family circumstances.
Do you support children with SEND?
Inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to ensuring every child feels valued, supported and able to participate fully in nursery life. Our experienced team works closely with families and external professionals where needed to identify and respond to children’s individual needs. We are proud of our reputation for inclusive practice and our commitment to helping every child thrive.
Any parent communication apps or systems?
We use Famly to keep parents informed and connected to their child’s nursery experience. Parents can access updates, observations, photographs, messages and important information through the app. We also communicate through newsletters, nursery updates, parent meetings and regular conversations to ensure strong partnerships between home and nursery.
