Our approach to SEND is focused on understanding each child as an individual and identifying the support that will help them participate, learn and thrive.

CNPG has a dedicated SEND & Inclusion function supporting children, families and staff across its settings.

We aim to identify children’s needs as early as possible.

Practitioners observe children’s development, listen to families and work collaboratively to understand strengths, interests and areas where additional support may be beneficial.

Where additional support is needed, we work with families to develop appropriate strategies and, where necessary, seek advice from relevant professionals.

Our curriculum is designed around children’s interests, development and experiences.

We recognise that children may learn and communicate in different ways.

Our practitioners adapt activities, environments, communication and support to help children access learning and participate meaningfully.

As an early years provider, we necessarily process information relating to children in order to provide safe, appropriate and effective childcare and education.

We take children’s privacy particularly seriously. Information relating to children is only collected, used and shared where there is a legitimate and appropriate reason to do so.

Where appropriate, we may process information relating to a child’s health, development, additional needs, dietary requirements, allergies, medical needs or safeguarding circumstances. Some of this information may constitute special category data and will be handled with additional care and appropriate legal safeguards.

We aim to ensure that every child has access to appropriate opportunities regardless of their individual circumstances.

Inclusion is not something that exists only within a policy document.

It is part of everyday life at CNPG — from the relationships children build, to the environments they explore, the curriculum they experience and the way we work with families.
