I was a part of the team that set up and opened Charnwood Pre-school in 1999, before Beverley took over the business in 2001. I have always wanted to work in the early years and after leaving school I completed a full time BTEC National diploma in caring services as well as working a teatime shift in local day nursery to gain some practical experience. Alongside this I was also a nanny for three children during the weekends, this was a role that I enjoyed for over ten years.
I strive to provide opportunities for children to learn through play, supporting them to develop and reach their full potential in a safe and secure environment. Working in partnership with and providing support to parents is also of huge importance to me.
I have gained a vast amount of experience and knowledge throughout my career which has allowed me to develop and grow into my current role. This has included becoming a mum of two children myself which has certainly enabled me to experience early years from the viewpoint of a parent and influenced me as a childcare professional.
Throughout my career I have continued to train and am proud to have achieved a level 4 qualification in childcare and a level 5 diploma in Leadership and Management in the early years. Alongside some of my colleagues, I have gained a Master’s Degree in Integrated Working with Children and their Families which has been inspirational in helping us to develop our practice
