I have worked for CNPG since 2010, starting at the nursery as a student, gaining work experience whilst completing a BTEC National Diploma in Child Development. After successful completion of the B-Tech, I secured a full time position as an early years educator and, progressed to room leader and deputy manager.
Whilst undertaking a Master’s degree in Integrated Working with Children and Families in 2020, I explored and researched wellbeing within early years; focusing most of my studies around this topic. Through this I developed a passion for supporting wellbeing for both children and staff. After returning from maternity leave with my second child in January 2024, I stepped into a new role of mental health and wellbeing officer. I have also completed a mental health first aid qualification, alongside several of my colleagues, to further facilitate my role.
I continue to be committed to creating an environment where children’s emotional needs are met and they are supported in making secure and meaningful attachments during their time at whilst at CNPG. Additionally, I recognise the critical importance of supporting the wellbeing of the practitioners who care for these children, as this enables both the children and their caregivers to thrive and reach their full potential.
